OUTSTANDING COLLEGE COUNSELOR. My son, a high school senior, was accepted into his first choice school – a highly competitive, Top 20 national university (Vanderbilt). Jenna worked with him since he was a sophomore and developed a great bond with him. One of Jenna’s strengths is her ability to think broadly and creatively about how best to build an effective profile for your student that will make him or her stand out in an authentic and natural way. Jenna was always available to us and spent a huge amount of time guiding both my son and us as parents. At the end of the day, Jenna delivered tremendous value for us! Our experience with Katie Perry and the team at Jenna Shulman has been nothing short of incredible. We had twins with completely different profiles--one involved in sports recruitment and one who really had absolutely no idea at the start of the process what she was looking for. Our attraction to their team, unlike what others had to offer in decades of experience, was actually the complete opposite--their youth and connection to what college admissions is today is their magic power, and it's invaluable. It is not the world we knew from when we went to school, and we appreciated their current expertise at every step. For our daughter especially, who started the process with more questions than answers, Kate's guidance and patience in making lists with realistic safeties, targets, and reaches, in being able to discuss pros and cons after tours, and ultimately in cultivating a final list that completely made sense happened without the drama that we feared, and turned our daughter enthusiastic about her choices. As far as the actual application process--it cannot be understated how fabulous it was to have every step of the way managed by Katie, taking the pressure off us as parents to have that be the constant conversation at home. The team's editorial support, Katie's flexibility in meeting times for two busy kids, and her respect for the deadlines that I wanted to have in place led to as stress free a process as it could possibly be. And as a perfect ending to our great relationship, both kids got into their ED schools, and Katie was the first person they wanted to text about it. Highly highly recommend.

Jenna assisted me through the entire college application process, when the college counselor at my school did not. She connected me to an essay coach and admissions officers ensuring my application would portray all of my qualities to its best ability. She ensured I was applying to attainable schools, while also striving for those slightly out of reach. She helped me find universities offering the programs/ resources I am looking for, and made the overall process go much more smoothly than it would have if I had resorted to my school's college counselor.
